There is a kind of love that asks for nothing in return. It sets no conditions. It knows no boundaries. It begins with the very first touch and remains forever, even when those hands can no longer hold as tightly as they once did. This image is not about a physical embrace. It is about the inner landscape of motherhood, a place where a child will always find refuge. It speaks of the strength born from tenderness, and of the tenderness in which the greatest strength resides.

Lately I find myself lying awake more than usual, staring at the quiet glow of the room while my mind refuses to rest. There's this loneliness of not having a life outside these walls, of watching others live while I stay still. And then there's the absence I still haven't learned to carry, the space my grandmother used to fill so effortlessly. And my mind moves between the two, back and forth, never settling. Some days I understand what I'm feeling, other days it's just a storm. And there I am, still, listening to my own mind when all I really want is a little peace. ✦ Created using Photoshop
