Tara Harris
Birmingham
Biography
“A contemporary artist painting intuitive landscapes inspired by memory, nature and cycles of life.”
Tara Harris is a contemporary British painter based in Birmingham whose work explores atmospheric landscapes that exist between reality and imagination. Working primarily in oil on wood panel, she develops layered, intuitive compositions shaped by memory, emotion, and a sense of the unseen. Her paintings evoke threshold spaces where distance, longing, and the possibility of reconnection quietly unfold. Drawing on ideas of imagined otherworlds and inner landscapes, Harris creates dreamlike terrains that function as metaphors for the invisible spaces between people, places, and experiences. Recent successes include exhibiting at Terrace Gallery in London and participating in group exhibitions such as the Assembly Rooms Summer Biennial. Her work has also featured in the public art project Surreal Solihull. Harris was selected for inclusion in Essence, Florence Contemporary’s catalogue (Issue 11), and was longlisted for the Jackson’s Art Prize.
