Biography
“Reality speaks most clearly when nothing is happening.”
I have been photographing for as long as I can remember. From early film cameras to digital, the camera has always been a way for me to observe the world quietly and to remember people as they are. I work from within situations, sensing people and spaces rather than directing them. I am interested in moments just before or after action, when a person stops trying to meet expectations and becomes present. For this reason, pressure, posing, and imposed norms are foreign to my practice. My work combines documentary observation with an authorial perspective, aiming not to shape reality, but to understand it - through attention, empathy, and pause.
